Goodreads Synopsis

New victims. New betrayals. New secrets.

When Cassie Hobbes joined the FBI’s Naturals program, she had one goal: uncover the truth about her mother’s murder. But now, everything Cassie thought she knew about what happened that night has been called into question. Her mother is alive, and the people holding her captive are more powerful—and dangerous—than anything the Naturals have faced so far. As Cassie and the team work to uncover the secrets of a group that has been killing in secret for generations, they find themselves racing a ticking clock.

The bodies begin piling up, the deaths hit closer and closer to home, and it soon becomes apparent that this time, the Naturals aren’t just hunting serial killers.

They’re being hunted themselves.

My Thoughts

Closing this novel was amazingly bittersweet.

After nearly three, possibly four years, since I picked up this series I have finally finished it. A series I absolutely adore and am so sad is over.

I first picked this series up after seeing it featured in a booktube video and fell in love with the cover and the synopsis and immediately went online to find it. Yes I know this is bad but I was new to reading and not sure if it was something I was totally into. I was also thirteen with no money which factored in to it.

Finishing this series was so bittersweet and emotional, having to say goodbye to the characters and also just the way everything wrapped up in general. On one hand I am very happy to have completed this series but on the other hand I did not want this to end.

As for the overall plot of this book, it was intense and full of suspense right from the get go. Although this wasn’t my favourite in the series it was incredibly entertaining.

We’re introduced to a new character in this final novel and I actually loved them. I do wish this new character had had more interaction with Michael though. To be honest I wish we got more from all the other side characters especially Lia. The previous books concentrated a lot on Michael, Deans and Sloane’s backgrounds and this was when we were meant to explore more from Lia’s story which we did I just wish there had been slightly more depth to that.

An important characteristic I looked over in the previous books was that dark and broody Dean is blonde! Since when! How did my brain not pick up on this before!

I am incredibly sad this is over, I am totally down for more books and I’m interested in reading more from Jennifer Lynn’s works, I heard The Fixer duology is good although it ends on a sort of cliffhanger and was never given the green light for a third book so I’m not sure.

I highly, highly recommend checking out this series because I love it so much and people need to check this out.
