Time to talk about what I read this month. I think I did a pretty good job this month again. I’m so happy that even though I’ve experienced minor book hangovers this summer I haven’t had no book slumps unlike last summer which lasted more or less the whole summer.
The first book I finished this month was Troublemakers by Catherine Barter. I also included this in my June wrap up because I read a lot of this last month but I officially finished this on July 1st. I really really enjoyed this book.
The next book I completed this month was Winter by Marissa Meyer. Last month I completed The Mortal Instruments. This month I finished The Lunar Chronicles. Why do I keep doing this myself. Maybe I just shouldn’t finish series anymore?! But either way I really enjoyed this book, and its my birthday soon so I hope to buy the short story collection Stars Above just so I can have more from this world and these characters.
After finishing Winter I slipped I had no idea what I wanted to read, I attempted a few books but nothing caught my interest and so I decided to reread The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan and actually had a great time rereading it. First time around I went straight into it after Last Olympian and get making comparisons between Heroes of Olympus and the original series. I loved Leo’s PoV and I don’t understand why Piper is hated so much within the fandom, she’s awesome!
Then after that I read Black Widow Forever Red by Margaret Stohl and I flew through this book. Seriously. I had a fun time reading this even though I had problem with the Insta Love but I talked about that in my review.
And then after this I read a graphic novel I checked out from the library. I’d had this for like two weeks but instead of reading it in that time I read it two days before I had to take it back. This graphic novel was Ghost Rider Circulo Vicioso. I enjoyed reading this, I had a good time and I loved the artwork.
My friend who I helped become obsessed with all things Rick Riordan lent me his copy of Percy Jackson The Ultimate Guide. It was ok, kind of boring as it just went through things I already knew about, I did however enjoy the camp schedule and Nico doing a tour of the underworld but I think now with the new official art they should remake it using Virias work because those other ones are cringey (especially Nico and Rachel).
And the last book I completd this month was The Lost Causes by Jessica Koosed Etting and Alyssa Embree Shwartz. This is another book I flew through and loved, it follows five outcast teenagers all with problems like OCD, depression, drug abuse etc, who are drugged against their will giving them mind powers, seeing ghosts, reading minds, becoming super smart, and the FBI ask them to help solve a murder that has rocked their small town. I loved this, it had me on the edge of my seat and the cute fluffy relationship in this is adorable.
