Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson.

This book was amazing. I mean its a book all about Magnus Bane so what else would it be! And so I wanted to talk about this books fabulousness, but since this is a bind up of novellas I’m writing my thoughts in a different way then I would usually with other reviews.

T10T- Contemporaries I’ve Recently Added To My TBR.

toptentuesday

Its Tuesday again! I have a lot to do tonight including studying for an exam that was meant to be on Thursday but today the teacher changed it to tomorrow! UGH!
But how about I forget about school and concentrate on something happier: books!
I decided to go for contemporaries I’ve recently added to my TBR list. You can find the weekly topics on The Broke & The Bookish.
This is a mix of what I’ve recently added to my Goodreads TBR list as well as the ist of books I use to keep track of what books I hope to buy next (there’s a lot so I like to choose top 10). Continue reading

May Wrap Up & June TBR

giphy (2)

In the month of May I read … 2 books! *Hangs head in shame*.

Yep this month a book slump came and would not go away. So these are the two books I read:

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater. This is the 3rd book in The Raven Cycle, my new favourite series which I have become extremely obsessed with. I of course loved this but it was my least favourite in the series. I just felt the ending fell a little flat and didn’t make me as excited as I should have been for the last book. I did a full review for this HERE.untitled (65)

Speeking of the last book in the series, that was my only other read for May. The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater. This was also the cause of my book slump/hangover. Maggie created an amazing series with great characters and I loved this final book, it made me so happy and so sad at the same time. I did a full review for this too HERE.untitled (17)

Also inbetween my book slump I managed to get through a bit more of The Shadowhunters Codex which I’ve been reading here and there, and during my slump I took this to school and read a bit every now and then.

I also am currently reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief for school in Spanish but I’m progressing slowly. Its more so my lengua teacher doesn’t complain about me reading in English.

TBR

The first books I want to finish in June (how is it already June?) are my current reads:

91sE9d87AdLThe Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan, this is the second book in The Trials of Apollo series which finally arrived after me ordering the day of its release May 2nd and it not arriving till about a week ago. This series centres around the god Apollo who was cast down to earth in the form of 16 year old Lester Papadopulous and in order to regain his godlyhood he must complete a bunch of trials. This is an amazing series, I did a review for the first book, and I plan on doing one for this one too. Its filled with great references and humour and Ricks writing it just great. I really don’t have much left but I’ve gotten caught up in my other current read:

The Ghost Files 3 by Apryl Baker. This was on Amazon for 99cent so I of course had to get it. I love this series. I always devour them. I read about 30% yesterday at the beach (and now I have severe sunburn on the back of my neck). Basically this series centres around Mattie Hathaway and troubled 16 year old foster kid who can see ghosts and this gets her into some serious trouble. This series is by no means a great work or literature but its a perfect guilty pleasure read. Its kind of cheesey and filled to the brim with cute boys and Mattie likes to tell us how strong and tough she is a little too much but in my opinion these are immensely enjoyable books!

So I have 3 weeks left of school which are going to be busy, I have a presentation on the 16th I haven’t even started, a comic for Wednesday I’m nowhere near to finishing plus exams and recuperation exams so I don’t have much time to read and I don’t know what I want to read so the next two books are just suggestions to myself of what I might read:

I recently joined Netgalley and oh my word is it an amazing sight and I got approved to read Patchwork by Karsten Knight so I’m planning on starting this as my next Kindle book. I’m planning on going into this not knowing anything other then it starts on some sort of boat and contains assassins and has a nice cover.

If I make the stupid decision to start a big and heart breaking book in he midst of all this school chaos it’ll most likely be City of Heavenly Fire, the final book to The Mortal Instruments. Starting this would be very unwise on my part but I’m known to make stupid decisions so …

Thanks for reading. Fingers crossed I can read a decent and acceptable amount of books this month as well as getting decent grades because wouldn’t that be great.
